Enrico Di Gesù has stressed the strength and unity of AC Milan Primavera and revealed that the team believes they could emerge victorious in the play-offs.

Di Gesu is a technical and dynamic 18-year-old midfielder and his name may ring a bell because he has been called-up to the senior squad twice already this season. He spoke to the microphones of Milan TV about the upcoming commitments of Giunti’s side, with his comments transcribed by MilanNews.

On his condition: “Now I’m fine, I had a month’s break due to a small physical problem. With Sassuolo I returned to the field and had excellent sensations.”

On the match against Sassuolo: “We got a good draw because the game didn’t go in the best way, especially at the beginning. It was important not to lose to stay attached to the play-off train. We have grown a lot especially since February with an important continuity of performance. We have great margins for growth both from a physical and qualitative point of view.”

On the play-offs: “We believe in the play-offs. We have stood up to strong teams, losing just a little or drawing. Winning with the big names is the step we need to make the leap that can take us up.”

On the season: “I was expecting a difficult tournament and it is very competitive in all matches. This makes it very nice and we need to grow because we know that at high levels all matches are difficult and it is very important for us to start having a continuity already in the Spring.”

On the next game against Empoli: “It’s a great team. It’s true that the first leg ended 4-0 but the games all start 0-0. Last week they won in Florence in an important way and it will be a very difficult match. We don’t have to think about the match. one way. It’s a difficult match ”

On the dressing room: “Ours is a nice dressing room. We have a mix of young people, there are the 2001 class that blend well with us. You joke when you have to joke and you work seriously when you have to work.”

On his performances: “I am satisfied with my performance, especially in the first part of the season. My strengths are consistency in training and always trying to give my best while the defects I have, as well as technical and physical defects that can be improved, is to believe little in myself a few times and to break down with thoughts that don’t exist.”

On being called up: “These two calls were unexpected. At the beginning I didn’t realise, I only did when I found myself on the bus with many champions. I hope they are the first of a long series.”
