Di Marzio confirms Fiorentina ‘want to keep’ Milan target: “Price tag would be very high”

Milan are looking for a striker to sign this summer and it seems one of their targets is Dusan Vlahovic, the Fiorentina star who has had a very good season. Gianluca Di Marzio has provided some updates on the matter.

The Serbian striker has scored 18 goals for La Viola in the league this season, proving his worth as the team hasn’t always done that great. It’s not exactly a surprise that several big teams are monitoring his situation (read more here).

Speaking live on Sky Italia, as cited by MilanLive, Gianluca Di Marzio shared his thoughts on the matter and made Fiorentina’s stance clear. Despite the heavy interest and the opportunity to cash in big time, they want to renew his contract.

“Fiorentina still want to keep him and renew his contract. Even if the player is wanted by some clubs, the price tag would be very high still. Let’s not forget the expiration of his contract in 2023 isn’t too close. Much will depend on Viola’s technical project, I know that negotiations with Gattuso and De Zerbi did not take off,” he stated.

It remains to be seen if Milan proceeds with their interest in Vlahovic. Either way, it’s clear that they are looking for a striker and they surely have other players on their wish list as well.
