Incoming head coach Marco Giampaolo is interested in a summer move for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torriera, Gianluca Di Marzio has confirmed.
The Rossoneri were linked with a move for the 23-year-old earlier in the week as they prepare to announce Giampaolo as their new coach at the San Siro, with Torreira having excelled under him at Sampdoria.
The Uruguay international then fuelled those rumours while on international duty by admitting that he is struggling to adapt to life in England.
Now, Di Marzio has confirmed that Giampaolo “dreams” of reuniting with Torreira at San Siro, hinting that any possibility of signing him will be explored this summer.
It is described as a “difficult” pursuit given the player’s importance to Arsenal and the fact he has only been there for 12 months.
Torreira does have a contract at the Emirates Stadium until 2023 and featured in 50 matches across all competitions in his first season for the Gunners, scoring two and assisting five.
