Di Marzio: Kjaer renewal worries Milan ‘the least’ as both parties agree on future

By Isak Möller -

One of the players that will expire next summer is Simon Kjaer. The Dane arrived from Sevilla in January of 2020 and he has since been a key player for Milan, who want to renew his contract.

Kjaer will turn 33 next year and it’s clear that he perhaps doesn’t have many years left of his career. However, it’s also clear that he’s a key player for Milan and the Rossoneri want to keep him for at least a few more years.

As with the Danish national team, the centre-back has added a lot in terms of experience and also quality. Milan have a young squad and along with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Kjaer helped build the fantastic side we see today.

Speaking on the renewal recently, as cited by MilanNews, Gianluca Di Marzio said that there are no worries about the renewal. Both parties want to continue together and negotiations will soon begin to reach an agreement.

“The will to continue together is there, but at the same time, there is the need to sit around a table and start on the duration and figures of the new agreement. At Milan, the situation regarding the future of the Danish defender is the one that worries the least,” he stated.
