Di Marzio claims Leao is ‘very happy’ at Milan and is ‘convinced of the project’

Rafael Leao is having a fantastic 2024 as he continues to shine for AC Milan and Portugal, and Gianluca Di Marzio has stated that he seems happy with the club’s project.

Leao endured a difficult first half of the season by his own high standards but with a recent upturn in form, he now has 12 goals and 11 assists with eight Serie A games still to play, as well as the Europa League quarter-final tie against AS Roma.

The Portuguese winger continues to be linked with a move away from Milan despite signing a new long-term contract last year, with Paris Saint-Germain the side who have been most frequently mentioned as potential suitors.

Di Marzio spoke live on Sky and he was asked about Leao’s current moment and the chances of him staying beyond the end of the season, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“Leao seems very happy to be at Milan, I see him convinced of the project, of the shirt he wears and of representing it at its best, he is well integrated into the environment and the city,” he said.

“In this sport it is easy to realise when after a few years certain players they make you perceive that will and desire for a change of scenery, in Leao I see a lot of happiness in being at Milan.”

  1. Leao would be wise to stay as he will never get this sort of tactical freedom and flexibility in any other premier club in my opinion.

    1. That’s right, He wouldn’t be an always starter in other clubs, concurrence is tough in Mancity Club, Bayern Munich etc…
