Di Marzio discusses potential leap in standings for Milan as Pioli ‘has many solutions’

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will face Bologna on Monday and given the fixtures of their Scudetto competitors, they could potentially make a leap in the standings. It won’t be an easy task, though, as Gianluca Di Marzio highlighted.

The Rossoneri are currently three points ahead of Napoli (2nd) and six points ahead of Inter (3rd), though it should be noted that the latter have a game in hand. This round could help Milan further extend their lead.

Inter will face Juventus tomorrow and Napoli will take on Atalanta, meaning some points are bound to be lost. Then again, Milan have to hold up their end of the bargain, which could turn out to be difficult as all eyes will be on them on Monday.

Speaking live on Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, Di Marzio shared his thoughts on the situation and highlighted the fact that Stefano Pioli has a full squad available. It’s something that could turn out to be decisive.

“Milan will play knowing the results of the others. It’s a favourable round also because Napoli will face Atalanta and then there will be Juventus-Inter. Bologna aren’t an easy opponent to face but potentially, it’s a round that can help Milan break away from the other competitors for the Scudetto. It makes little sense to hide now, knowing that you can win the league is important. Stefano Pioli finally has everyone at his disposal, he has many solutions,” he stated.
