Olivier Giroud has been linked with Milan for a very long time now and it seems he could finally arrive at the club. The contract extension with Chelsea didn’t make things easier but a solution is in sight, a report claims.
The Rossoneri need a deputy for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the management has identified the Frenchman as the perfect player for that job. Negotiations have, therefore, been going on with Chelsea for quite some time now.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, as cited by MilanNews, Giroud might not arrive on a free transfer anymore. Instead, Milan could pay a very small compensation fee to free the 34-year-old.
There were contacts between the clubs last night and new ones are expected today, so a solution could be reached for everything, per the report. He would be the third signing, but could also be the fifth as Milan are so active on the market.
