Midfielder Franck Kessie is not close to leaving AC Milan despite reports linking him with a move to Monaco, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Ivory Coast international was linked with moves to both Spurs and Wolves before the English window closed, with the latter apparently having a bid accepted.
It appeared that the 22-year-old would be staying at Milan as no other teams had come forward, but a shock report on Thursday claimed that the Rossoneri were in talks with Monaco over a €20m deal.
It was even suggested that Milan have ‘begun talks’ with some of his potential replacements, however the reliable Di Marzio has now squashed that speculation.
He told Sky Sport‘s “Calciomercato – L’originale”: “Monaco’s offer was immediately refused.
“It was deemed too low; Milan does not want to sell Kessie and the player does not want to go to Monaco.”
