Ahead of tomorrow’s game between AC Milan and Como, the latter’s coach Cesc Fabregas spoke to the media at his press conference and made sure to highlight the quality of the Rossoneri.
Como made their long-awaited return to Serie A ahead of the season and so far, it has gone pretty well. Fabregas is growing as a manager and his success with the team hasn’t gone unnoticed, with Milan being one of the clubs linked with him.
Speaking at his pre-match conference earlier today, as transcribed by MilanNews, Fabregas shared his thoughts on the important game. He made sure to highlight the quality difference between the two teams, though stating that Como will play their own game.
Your thoughts on Milan?
“Milan are a team that score often, whoever comes in must be ready to understand and fit into the dynamics of the game. Today, with five substitutions, you change almost 50% of the team, if one iisn’t ready it becomes a problem.
“The fact that Milan score a lot in the final stages of the game is quite normal, they are a Champions League team. We, on the other hand, are in our first year in Serie A and we must improve. It is more a question of time than quality.”
Tomorrow a magical stadium like San Siro…
“We always play with courage, we always need personality, otherwise we cannot put our type of football into practice. Experience is acquired season after season. Even tomorrow we need to go on the pitch with ideas and personality, this is what I asked the boys.”
You have all the players at your disposal…
“For the first time, everyone is available. There are 26 players training as a group. I’m pleased, everyone is involved. Sergi Roberto has also recovered. Obviously, not everyone is ready to take to the field for 90 minutes, but the fact that we are all training together is a great thing.”
Have you been close to Milan in the past?
“I spoke to them in 2016, I was 29 and at the height of my powers. I stayed at Chelsea, I wanted to show Conte that I could play and win in his system too. I always felt good in the teams I played for.”
Conceicao labelled tomorrow’s clash ‘difficult’ as Como are a ‘quality’ team in his press conference, so it’s clear that both managers have a lot of respect for each other. It remains to be seen who will be victorious tomorrow evening.
