AC Milan registered their first defeat of the season in Serie A yesterday evening. Fiorentina came out on top in what was a very strange game, filled with technical errors but also entertainment for the neutrals.
Not only did the Rossoneri suffer their first defeat, they also conceded a whopping four goals in the process. It doesn’t sound as bad when you consider that they scored three goals, but it still cannot be repeated.
Simon Kjaer, the leader at the back, sure wasn’t happy with the performance and made it clear that they cannot afford more games like yesterday. And he’s absolutely right, at least if Milan want to fight for the Scudetto this season.
It was the first time the Rossoneri had conceded four goals since the derby against Inter back in February of 2020, when they lost 4-2. That game was a disaster and perhaps this was a necessary wake-up call for Milan, to never relax in a clash.
