Pleasant first task for Furlani as Milan close in on €175m Emirates deal

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan’s agreement with Emirates will expire at the end of the season and negotiations are ongoing for the new deal. Based on the latest reports, it will be a pleasant first task for new CEO Giorgio Furlani.

A month ago, Milan announced that Furlani has taken over the role of CEO of the club from Ivan Gazidis. The 43-year-old was already a member of the Rossoneri’s Board of Directors, and the appointment didn’t come as a surprise.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (read here), Milan are expected to sign a five-year renewal with their main sponsor Emirates very shortly. The figures of the deal should more than double, from €14.5m to €30-35m for a total of potentially €175m.

It will be a pleasant first task for Furlani to close this agreement, in other words, and hopefully the start of a very successful journey both for him and the club.

    1. It goes to making up the losses the Milan accrue each year. Don’t know where you’ve been but Milan don’t make a profit and are still some like 70 million in revenue short of breaking even. Ever hear of FFP? Look it up and you might understand why things are the way they are.
