Five players officially have their contracts expire

AC Milan plan to use this summer as a rebuilding process, a lot of “dead weight” is being removed and five such players have had their contracts expire with the club today.

Montolivo, former Milan captain has left the club and is now a free agent. He joined the club in 2012 and made over 120 appearances for the club.

Abate was the last member of Milan’s 2011 scudetto winning side. He was a loyal servant to the club and man fans adored him. We wish him the best.

Zapata never quite became a first team player but fit in when called upon. He always preformed better for his national team than with Milan but carried himself with class.

Bertolacci was the final “big money” transfer of the Berlusconi era, but was deemed a flop quickly. While never amounting to the price tag paid, he did his job without complaint even when he lost his starting role.

Jose Mauri was picked up from Parma after the club went bankrupt. While showing great potential, he never could make an impression on the coaching staff.

We wish all the departing players the best in their journeys.
