Florenzi describes ‘energised’ group and warns Lazio: “We know their weaknesses”

By Isak Möller -

As Stefano Pioli is switching things up in the starting XI, Alessandro Florenzi will make his full debut for AC Milan against Lazio this evening. It was written in the stars that he would do that against his long-lasting rivals.

Alexis Saelemaekers featured a lot for Belgium during the international break and thus need a bit of rest. Florenzi will replace him and after making two appearances off the bench, he will get his first start for the Rossoneri.

In an interview with MilanTV, as cited by MilanNews, the versatile Italian was asked about the game and why it’s special to him. As he came through the youth ranks of Roma, Lazio has always been his main rival.

How was the group after the break?

“How I left it, positive, energised. We have 7 very important games, everyone will be needed and everyone can be important. We must enter the field trying to give our best knowing that there are teammates who will give everything like us.”

What opponent is Lazio?

“We have prepared well, the field will give the answers. We know their strengths and weaknesses, we will try to make the most of them.”

Will it be a game full of emotions?

“I think so, it will definitely be a good match for the spectators today.”

Hopefully, Florenzi will do well for Milan this afternoon as the game isn’t expected to be easy for them. Above all, it will be interesting to see him in the right-wing role as opposed to at the back.
