Paulo Fonseca and Theo Hernandez have discussed the recent decline in form, as confirmed by the manager, and a ‘rebound performance’ is expected in the game between AC Milan and Juventus.
Hernandez was one of the culprits against Cagliari as the Sardinians created a lot of chances on the left flank, in addition to scoring all three goals on that side of the pitch. Indeed, the Frenchman hasn’t been at his best lately and will be hoping for a better display tonight.
Speaking at the press conference yesterday, Fonseca was asked about the left-back and the current situation. He admitted that he has been speaking with the player individually, and that this has had positive effects in training.
“Theo is a great footballer. For me the best left back in the world, I have no doubts. I think it was a question of adaptation. We spoke in these days, he is learning things that are important. This week he seemed more focused and motivated than ever: an important sign to see him at the best level,” he stated.
Hernandez will indeed play from start against Juventus tonight and he will be up against Francisco Conceicao. In addition to the flank, however, he must also give the centre-backs support inside the box on the crosses.
