FootMercato: Marseille could launch assault for Milan and Atalanta-linked midfielder

By Isak Möller -

Milan will be looking to bring in at least one midfielder this summer as they decided not to redeem Soualiho Meite from Torino. Therefore, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are currently at work to find the right profile.

Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie, the starting midfielders for the Rossoneri, will both take part in the AFCONs at the beginning of next year. As a result, they will miss a few games and Stefano Pioli will need good options.

According to the French outlet FootMercato, Milan are still interested in the former Serie A player Seko Fofana. The 26-year-old is currently at Lens after leaving Udinese last summer, also on the radar of Atalanta.

However, Marseille consider Fofana one of the prime targets and could launch an attempt to sign him this summer. Lens want to keep the midfielder but might have to let him go if faced with a good offer.
