CorSport: The four academy graduates Milan should include in 2022-23 squad list

By Oliver Fisher -

There has been a lot of talk recently about the players that AC Milan will either sign or pick to fill up their four ‘home-grown’ slots next season.

As part of the regulations regarding the composition of the squad list in both Serie A and in UEFA competitions, there are some requirements to have the full 24 slots. A team can only select that many if they have four players that came through their academy (were in the youth sector for at least 3 years between 15 and 21 years of age) and four players raised who came through Italian academies (same age rules).

Il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) report that Tommaso Pobega will certainly be one of the Milan academy players as he will be very useful because of his versatility and the fact that he can develop further at 22.

Matteo Gabbia should also remain for the next season despite the rumours he could be loaned out, while third player should be Davide Calabria and the fourth could well end up being Alessandro Plizzari, currently on loan at Lecce.
