With Ismael Bennacer being linked to a move away from AC Milan, the Rossoneri need a replacement for the Algerian, and a French midfielder has cropped up again.

Today, Bennacer’s exit has seemed more and more likely, and Marseille are being persistent in their attempt to land the midfielder. However, they have been rebutted so far with Milan needing a replacement before.

Should the Algerian leave, the midfield coverage would be very minimal, especially in a deeper area, so the Diavolo are only going to allow him to leave if they get another body through the door, which is reportedly causing some tension.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that another midfielder has to arrive for Bennacer to depart, and suggests that Warren Bondo could once again be considered for a move in January. The Frenchman could be considered in the next few hours.

However, there have been no negotiations to take place with Monza just yet, right now, it is solely an interest. Despite this though, the report states that the operation ‘would not be long’ if things did kick start, so there is a possibility that he can become ‘a protagonist in the evening’.

Milan have already wrapped up a deal for Joao Felix and a few other names are floating about as well, so whether the route to Bondo and away from Bennacer opens will be seen in the next few hours.
