From Spain: Barcelona join Milan in race for €40m Zagreb sensation

By Oliver Fisher -

Barcelona are ready to join AC Milan in the race for star Dinamo Zagreb winger Dani Olmo, according to the latest reports from Spain.

The Spain U21 international has been in red hot form so far this season, scoring six goals and adding five assists in 12 appearances in all competitions.

Olmo is beginning to attract the interest of some of Europe’s elite as a result, and Spanish outlet Don Balon – as cited by Calciomercato.com – claims that Barcelona have now joined the race.

The report states that Olmo is viewed as a possible replacement for winger Ousmane Dembele who has struggled to settle in at the Nou Camp since his big-money arrival from Borussia Dortmund.

Olmo meanwhile revealed his frustration at being priced out of a summer exit after the window closed, with reports claiming that Dinamo have set an asking price of €35-40m.

The 21-year-old admitted to being flattered with the Milan links back in June, while his father Miquel has previously confirmed discussions were held with the Rossoneri over a move.
