Gallery: ‘Modric: yes to Milan’, ‘Maignan out, Vanja in’ – Today’s front pages in Italy

AC Milan are already busy in terms of transfer activity, and the front pages of the newspapers in Italy on Wednesday show it.

There has almost been too much to try and keep up with, starting from the pursuit of Luka Modric which appears to be close to the finish line. Then there are the exits: Tijjani Reijnders, Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez are all believed to be in talks over leaving.

This morning’s Italian newspapers provide a pretty good summary of the news from the past 24 hours, and it promises to be another busy day on the Milan mercato front.

La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Modric: yes to Milan. Tare’s blitz: the former Ballon d’Or winner is one step away. Reijnders to City. Chelsea on Maignan but Allegri puts up a wall.”

Corriere dello Sport: “Modric and Milan at the signatures. Also Ricci and Rabiot for Tare. Reijnders: City advance.”

Tuttosport: “Milan-Modric warms up. The Croatian ace is close to saying yes. Maignan out, Vanja in. Chelsea on the French goalkeeper: the Serb from Torino can replace him. Reijnders to City: decisive move worth €75m. Theo: no to Al-Hilal.”

QS: “#ACMilan, what a coup. Here is Modric on a free transfer. One-year deal with an option for a second. City-Reijnders closer, Theo rejects Arabia.”

  1. Missing out european football qualification has serious consequences: top players will leave. Howver, it ia also an oppertunity to build a new team and modric will be essential and valuable in this regard.

  2. So after finishing 8th, the plan is to downgrade in every department and hire the worst manager in the world. Good stuff
