Furlani sets record straight regarding Camarda renewal: “Absolutely not correct”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani has confirmed that some of the figures circulating regarding Francesco Camarda’s renewal are wrong, and reiterated the plans to launch a second team.

Since Camarda turned 16 earlier in the month, reports have been circulating regarding why he has not signed his first professional contract with Milan amid interest from clubs abroad.

Earlier this week, a report suggested that the youngster had requested an annual wage of €2m, and his agent, Beppe Riso, wanted €10m in commission fees, which are absurd figures considering the amount of senior football he has played.

However, Antonio Vitiello of MilanNews then rubbished these reports yesterday, claiming that Camarda’s entourage are ‘furious’ with the speculation and categorically denied requesting big commissions.

Furlani gave an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport in which he spoke about a number of topics from Stefano Pioli’s future to the summer mercato, and he spoke about Camarda’s future as well.

“The reflections on the second team have been there for five-six years now, but the regulatory context remains complicated,” he said.

Camarda is a boy who grew up in our youth sector, he has just turned 16 and we would like him to always remain with us and score many goals in the future with this shirt.

“He is a Rossoneri fan like me, I am convinced that he wants to remain in an important sporting project. I want to point out that certain figures that have come out regarding hypothetical requests made are absolutely not correct, they are even offensive to the agents, to the boy and his family.”
