Gallery: ‘Milan awakening’, ‘Pioli breathes’ – Today’s front pages in Italy

AC Milan bounced back with an important win against Frosinone last night, following the disappointing mid-week UCL clash. Luka Jovic bagged his first goal and Stefano Pioli will be hoping that this is the start of something better.

Yesterday’s game was certainly a must-win for the Rossoneri and they responded in just the right way. Jovic opened the scoring with his first goal for the club, followed by a great Christian Pulisic goal in the second half. The Serbian was then involved again, assisting Fikayo Tomori for the third goal.

For once, the newspapers had good things to say about Milan on the front page, also highlighting the return of Ismael Bennacer who came off the bench. With Olivier Giroud and likely Simon Kjaer back for the next game as well, Pioli wants to turn a corner.

The headlines

Gazzetta dello Sport: “The devil is alive. Milan strike three times, goal and assist for Jovic. Pioli chases away the crisis, now three points behind Inter.”

Tuttosport: “Jovic takes away Milan’s anxiety. The Serbian is unblocked. Frosinone collapsed, Pioli still breathing. And Bennacer was back in action.”

Corriere dello Sport: “Jovic and Pulisic: Milan awakening. The former Viola man, Pulisic and Tomori secure Pioli and third place.”
