Gattuso: “Milan will remain inside me; the club is in good hands”

By Oliver Fisher -

Gennaro Gattuso has insisted that AC Milan are in ‘good hands’ following his departure from the club earlier this week.

Rino left his post as Rossoneri boss on Tuesday after failing to guide the club to a top for finish, with Milan being linked with a number of names as his successor.

Gattuso discussed his decision to leave Milan on the day of his sacking, but has now offered a bit more detail and reassurance to fans.

“Milan will remain inside me, it has given me a great opportunity,” Gattuso told Sky Italia.

“We lost the chance to make the Champions League however there are positive things that I’ll remember. Milan is in good hands, the fans shall not worry.

“It was a tough decision [to leave Milan] but at that moment it was right. I don’t want to speak about money, when we speak of Milan for me money do not count.

“When emotions and heart are in question I don’t like to speak about money. For me Milan’s history is incredible and it has given me way more than what I gave.

“I don’t want to be praised for a normal gesture towards people that I worked with for years.”
