GdS: AC Milan and Inter willing to resume the season without San Siro

By Isak Möller -

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the leaders of Italian football are now looking for a way to resume the season in time for the next one. However, this is far from easy as the situation changes every day.

As reported by today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), one hypothesis is to resume the season and avoid playing games in the north, where the Coronavirus has hit the hardest. Of course, this would mean no games at San Siro.

However, contrary to previous reports, AC Milan and Inter have given their total availability to playing the games elsewhere. Considering that all games will be played behind closed doors, the venue makes little difference in the end.

It remains to be seen what decision the Italian Football Federation and Lega Serie A will make. Then again, health and safety will always come first. In the upcoming weeks, we will know more as the Coronavirus battle continues.
