After the end of last season, the first two names on the list of possible departures were Gigio Donnarumma and Suso, as they would have guaranteed important capital gains.
However, with just two weeks remaining of the transfer window, the two are destined to remain at Milanello. As a result of several events on the market, the Rossoneri were forced to alter their plain, hence the complete turnaround.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, once the Italian transfer window is closed (September 2nd), Milan will turn their attention to contract talks with Donnarumma and Suso, who both are expected to renew their respective deal with the club.
The goalkeeper’s contract expires in 2021. while the Spaniard’s is valid until 2022. For the latter, though, the issue of the €40m release clause has to be resolved. The Rossoneri intend to offer Suso a higher salary in exchange for removing the clause or increasing its value.
