GdS: ‘Holidays another time’ – Camarda to join Fonseca and the squad in the USA

By Oliver Fisher -

Francesco Camarda is expected to join the AC Milan squad in the United States after Italy’s exit at the U19 European Championship, according to a report.

According to Luca Bianchin of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Camarda is ‘unexpectedly’ expected in the United States. Milan’s idea is for him to join the rest of the squad soon, to participate in the tour under Paulo Fonseca’s watch.

Since May, Camarda has played in the Primavera play-offs, the U17 European Championship and the U19 Euros too. However, he will have to have his ‘holidays another time’ because an important opportunity awaits across the Atlantic.

Camarda is one of the most talked about talents in Italian football as he continues to develop at a rapid rate, and following his goals at the Under 19 European Championship, it will not slow down anytime soon.

Playing above his age is not a new thing to the striker, and it is a question of when, not if, he will step up to the senior levels. Bianchin did recently put forward the idea that Camarda could actually be the third striker in the squad behind Alvaro Morata and a potential new arrival or Luka Jovic, although at present being the No.9 for Milan Futuro seems more likely.

  1. Can’t be third behind Jovic, because the Serb isn’t good as a lone 9. So then you’re selling Jovic, bringing in another strong 9 THEN trying Camarda as a third option.
