Mario Mandzukic arrived during the January transfer window on a free transfer but has since only amassed 158 minutes for the club. He has struggled with an injury and although his return is close, time is running out.
The Croatian striker, who has previously played for Juventus, decided to take the No.9 shirt and break the curse that the burden of the number has resulted in. So far, it’s not exactly going great for him as he has barely been on the pitch.
However, Mandzukic could be back for the game against Parma and he has a clear mission in mind, as reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews). There is a renewal clause in his contract, but it’s not automatic as first thought.
Therefore, he will have to earn the renewal on the pitch and thus the final nine games of the season will be extremely important for him. Thus far, the investment has been a pretty bad deal for Milan but this might change soon.
