AC Milan’s interest in Rodrigo De Paul could be perceived as a message to Hakan Calhanoglu over his future, a report claims.
This morning, La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reported that the Rossoneri have a concrete interest in signing Rodrigo De Paul from Udinese and have even presented a first offer of Hauge plus cash to try reach the €40m price tag.
The paper adds (via MilanNews) how Calhanoglu has not yet renewed his contract with Milan, despite the club having tabled a concrete proposal some time ago now. They write that the attempt for De Paul could therefore take on a double meaning: it would be proof that the club believes in an important project for the Champions League, but it could also be a message to Calhanoglu himself that he is replaceable.
Despite this, Pioli continues to count on Calhanoglu, despite the disappointing performance offered in recent matches. He is the 10 that the Rossoneri coach has never questioned, not even now that the contract renewal does not arrive and some criticism does.
