GdS: Decisions made on Leao, Kjaer and Theo ahead of Newcastle trip

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will leave for Newcastle this afternoon and today will be the final training session before departing, with decisions made on three players.

According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), Rafael Leao is heading towards regaining his starting place. The last match in which he was on the pitch from minute one was that in Lecce last November 11th.

The hamstring injury in his right thigh kept him out until last week but the winger gradually returned to work with the group and after the positive responses received from yesterday’s training, the Rossoneri No.10 is ready to take back a spot in the starting XI.

Leao may not be the only news in attack as Noah Okafor is also moving towards full recovery. In the morning we will understand if he will also leave for Newcastle with the squad, or if he will return on Sunday against Monza.

Simon Kjaer is still out having not regained sufficient fitness to make him useable for the game, meaning Theo Hernandez will be back at centre-back as he has played for the last couple of games.
