GdS: Elliott give green light to outright purchase – Milan in talks over Botman

By Isak Möller -

Sven Botman is AC Milan’s priority for the defence and it seems they are willing to make a significant effort to get the Dutchman to the club. Elliott Management have now opened to an outright purchase, a report claims.

According to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have been handed the green light from owners Elliott Management. Rather than a loan formula, an outright purchase can now be made.

Lille have slapped a €30m price tag on Botman and the Rossoneri are working on lowering that figure. Being able to put a permanent purchase on the table might help, but it’s clear that it won’t be easy to convince the French side.

For that reason, Milan are also keeping tabs on a few other centre-backs, such as Diallo of PSG, Mina of Everton and Szalai of Fenerbahçe. It remains to be seen what the outcome of their centre-back pursuit will be.

    1. Loan to buy is a smart formula.
Every player can bomb, so if Botman fails at Milan you are covered. If he excels you have last year price to pay.
Even messi sucked in the end for psg, in the past Rivaldo himself was a flop for us. Or would you prefer if we bought Bakayoko without testing him

      1. Not really. Besides this formula annoys the player and the player owner, you are not own the player. Yes I agree, If it is flop, you are covered. But, if the player shine, the parent club wont sell him (happens earlier with brahim before his 2nd loan). And next season we dont have any continuity player and plays each season with different player.

  1. That’s why they have contract. If you breach. You pay a fine. That’s why parent club pay to terminate a contract early before it’s over. That way everyone is happy. That’s what make obligation and options to buy different. Usually obligation are tied with a quota such as how many games played. Loan usually helps both parties.
