GdS: Fonseca returns to Roma level with Milan move – how much he will earn

Paulo Fonseca was announced by AC Milan a few weeks back but he arrived at Milanello for the first time yesterday. An exciting challenge awaits the manager who has returned to his Roma level salary-wise as stated by a report.

Fonseca got a tour of Milanello yesterday along with his entire staff and the first day of pre-season will take place tomorrow. Surprisingly, the manager has opted not to request a hotel and will stay at Milanello instead until he finds a place.

According to yesterday’s of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), after earning €1.4m per season at Lille, Fonseca has earned himself a significant pay rise. Milan will pay him €2.5m per season and this is more or less what he used to earn at Roma (€3m).

It should be noted that Stefano Pioli still earns €4m per season, seeing as his contract hasn’t been terminated yet, and Milan are thus hoping that he can find a new club this summer. In any case, Fonseca could reach those levels too in time, but he will have to prove himself first.

The presentation to the media will take place tomorrow and then the training session is scheduled for the afternoon.
