AC Milan began the season with the plan of being able to alternate Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud in the role of striker, and they may finally be able to do that.
As reported this morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), it is likely that both Giroud and Ibrahimovic will feature in the game against Bologna tomorrow night but not at the same time as we saw against Hellas Verona. Instead, the Frenchman and the Swede will be involved in a relay with one taking over from the other, but who will start is not yet clear.
Ibrahimovic has been working hard to get back to a good condition after a recent period that was not easy due to some physical problems, and at 40 years old he knows better than most that everything must be managed closeley.
However, to truly get back to 100% he needs minutes under his belt and tomorrow’s match at Bologna will be a good test for Ibra. In the next few hours, Pioli will decide whether to deploy him as a starter or whether to start Giroud from the beginning and then bring the Swede on.
