GdS: Injury updates on Donnarumma and Kjaer – when they could return

By Isak Möller -

On Sunday afternoon, AC Milan will host Genoa at an empty San Siro, as the game will be played behind closed doors due to the Coronavirus. However, the Rossoneri will have to do without Gigio Donnarumma and Simon Kjaer.

The goalkeeper injured himself during the clash against Fiorentina, sustaining a sprained ankle after a knock from Federico Chiesa. According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), he will be left out of the squad as a precaution.

In other words, the 21-year-old is aiming for the Coppa Italia semi-final return leg against Juventus on Wednesday. If all goes as planned, he will play the important game from the first minute. For Genoa, though, Asmir Begovic will replace him between the sticks.

As for Kjaer, who injured himself against Torino, he will definitely miss the games against Genoa and Juventus. Per the newspaper, he is working to get back for the Lecce encounter on Monday, March 9.
