GdS: Lille star overtakes Bakayoko in Milan’s transfer market preferences – the latest

By Nikita Fesyukov -

Yesterday AC Milan finalized the arrival of Sandro Tonali from Brescia, but the Rossoneri do not intend to stop here in terms of reinforcements for the midfield department, as Paolo Maldini looks to gift coach Pioli one more midfielder.

It is no mystery that in the past few weeks the main target has been Tiemoue Bakayoko, who already played for the club in the 2018/19 season and would like to return to the San Siro. Negotiations for the Frenchman’s arrival proceed, but rather slowly, as reported by Sky Sport several days ago.

As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport today (via milanlive.it), the problem between Milan and Chelsea is the demand for the buy-out option in Bakayoko’s contract. Maldini wants to set it at around 20 million and the parties are currently distant.

For this reason, as per the Milanese paper, the Rossoneri have intensified contacts with Lille for Boubakary Soumare, who seems to have overtaken Bakayoko in the club’s preferences at this time.

Relations with Lille are very positive and Milan are looking to obtain favourable conditions to secure the arrival of the midfielder.
