GdS: Mandzukic shows off professionalism but now he must convince Milan

By Isak Möller -

Mario Mandzukic hasn’t played much for Milan since his arrival in January, struggling with a few injuries at the start of his adventure. He has finally recovered, though, and now he needs to convince the management.

The decision to give up his salary in March, as noted by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), shows his professionalism and determination. He isn’t at the club just for the money, but rather he wants to prove that he still is a very good player.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara like him a lot but the renewal clause, albeit linked to Champions League qualification, isn’t automatic and thus the Croatian needs to prove himself. And with just eight games left, he will be up against it.

He will get playing time, that’s for sure, so it’s all up to the No.9 to prove that he deserves to stay beyond this season. He isn’t expected to play from start against Genoa tomorrow, but he could come off the bench.
