GdS: Milan set eyes on €15-20m playmaker amid Diaz and De Ketelaere doubts

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are beginning to look at other playmakers ahead of the summer window amid the doubts they currently have in that role, a report claims.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) this morning, Tommaso Baldanzi is a name that is very popular among the management and he is being watched with great attention, all while the futures of Brahim Diaz and Charles De Ketelaere remain uncertain.

The Rossoneri will have to decide in the summer whether or not to keep the young Spaniard who is on loan with an option to buy from Real Madrid. Diaz’s numbers this season are good and Milan would like to keep him, but they would have to pay €22m.

Furthermore, it remains to be understood what the intentions of the Spanish side are as they have a buy-back and may wish to bring him back to the Spanish capital to become part of their first team squad after three seasons out on loan.

As for De Ketelaere, his season has been anonymous and therefore Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara must decide what to do with him too in view of next season after the over €30m invested to sign him.

With these two questions marks, Milan could therefore need a playmaker in the summer and so the Baldanzi hypothesis remains alive.

He is also attracted interest from Napoli, which means Empoli are expected to demand around €15-20m for the 20-year-old, who has four Serie A goals this season.
