GdS: Milan could save €2m as Genoa insist on signing outcast this month

Mateo Musacchio is one of the players that is expected to leave Milan, either this month or in the summer. Even in an injury crisis, the Argentine has had to settle with sitting on the bench game after game.

The former Villarreal man hasn’t played a single minute for the Rossoneri since February, and although this is also because injury struggles, the signal is very clear. His contract will expire in the summer and Milan are happy to let him go.

As he earns €2m per year, the Rossoneri would save €2m gross if he leaves this month, though this perhaps won’t be easy. According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), after the first approach was turned down, Genoa could try again.

The Rossoblu are keen on Musacchio but it all depends on their offer, and the defender’s willingness to return to playing. In addition to him, former Milan man Sokratis Papastathopoulos is also on the club’s radar.
