GdS: Milan could fast-track signing of Brahim Diaz amid pact with Real Madrid

By Isak Möller -

Brahim Diaz started the season in great fashion with AC Milan and after a tough period due to Covid-19, the Spaniard has once again started to show his qualities in the No.10. In fact, the Rossoneri are pleased with his displays.

The 22-year-old is currently on loan at the club from Real Madrid, who agreed to a two-year loan ahead of the season. This season, he has bagged four goals and four assists for the Rossoneri, but it could have been even more.

As said, he struggled to regain form after contracting Covid-19 but his performances have been looking a lot better lately. Therefore, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanLive), Milan are thinking about an early redemption.

The loan will expire in the summer of 2023 but Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara could fast-track the signing of Diaz. They have a pact with Real Madrid that allows them to speak about the €22m signing already this summer (there is also a €27m buy-back).

The relations between the clubs are great and it remains to be seen if Real Madrid want to bet on Diaz for the future. Should he stay at Milan, it’s clear that he would get an improved salary from the current €1.2m per year.

  1. “the Spaniard has once again started to show his qualities in the No.10.”

How?? In what game? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We can’t rely on Inconsistent flashes from the lad.

Maldini and Massara are at it again… They will soon tell us the renewals are new signings too.

    1. Right, too early to decide.

Also buyback is just 5m more than fee to Real…investing so much time to potentially lose him just for 5m.

He was a stopgap solution thst maybe could become permanent, so far its 50/50

    2. Hahaha….
You’re absolutely Correct , spend € 22 M for him just kind a waste money.
We couldn’t sign € 15 for player like Faivre …..

    3. Did you watched the Derby and Lazio in the Copa? Diaz played well in both matches. And last season he also did well with some of his goal against Juve, Torino, Fiorentina, Celtic, and Sparta Prague. The young lad just got his form again after covid.

And you need to remember that Diaz is 22 years old. He’s still young and can still improve.

Just look at Leao, Tonali, or Calabria at their 1st season in Milan. I remember some fans mocked them as useless, garbage, flop, or whatever toxic names they can find in the gutter. But now after these young players improved a lot and show their quality, those fans eat their own words and learn the lesson that as a fans we need to be patience with young players.

  2. Signing Diaz for 22m is absolute rubbish and even real having a 27m buy back clause is very damn stupid…..if Milan sign this player then I will be sure that they are clueless, there are better options out there that we can get for 22m

    1. Name 1 that plays better than Diaz, with 22 mio price tag, in a respectable league, shines against top tier opponent like last week. Name one..

      1. Adam Hložek, dybala on a free(the money can cover his wages for a 3 year contract), and Gianluca Caprari (has more shot creating actions per game, goals per game, assist per game, and dribbles completed per game) market value is 7 million.

        1. “dybala on a free(the money can cover his wages for a 3 year contract)”

Nope. Dybala wants over 10M€/year. And remember to add taxes too. NO WAY IN H*** Diaz costs that much (although Dybala is 10x the player Diaz is).

          1. Dang! It was a long shot and I know we would never get him but I never expected his wages to be that high. Was hoping for a bidding war between us and Tottenham and that he wold pick us because of UCL.

  3. It doesn’t make any sense so I don’t think it will happen, just a fake story. Why would Milan sign and spend that money this summer when they have the player on loan for another season for 1.5M loan fee I think? Money will be spent on other positions, there is literally no way Milan can buy a defender like Botman, midfieldier like Sanchez, Diaz and another player in the same season, without selling a key player for big money.

  4. I’d keep him on loan to support Adli. Right now, after what he has shown most of this year, I wouldn’t pay €10M for Brahim Diaz.

And get him out of #10 shirt too.

  5. Many fans forget that Milan’s surge towards the end of last season was with Diaz playing as Number 10, and Calhanoglu dropping deep or to the left.

Give the boy some credit for his contribution.

And he can still develop further
