GdS: Milan displays crucial as Romagnoli has what it takes for Italy return

By Isak Möller -

Alessio Romagnoli has played the last few games from start for AC Milan as Simon Kjaer has been struggling physically. And this has indeed been good news for the captain, who is aiming for a return to the national team.

As reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport yesterday (via MilanNews), Romagnoli’s name disappeared from Roberto Mancini’s radar for a while. However, the Italy manager could soon reconsider and not only because of Romagnoli’s recent performances.

Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini aren’t exactly getting any younger, which also can be said for Francesco Acerbi who’s 33. As a result, there will be space for Romagnoli to show his qualities with the Azzurri again.

Certainly, as highlighted by the newspaper, he has what it takes to earn a spot in the national team and his performances with Milan will be crucial. And next summer, he could perhaps move to another club and find even more space.

  1. Our capitano definitely have what it takes to lead the NT defensive line after Bonucci – Chiellini era. Him paired with Gianluca Mancini/Bastoni, with Calabria on the right and Di Lorenzi on the left seems promising

Hope it is sooner than later
