GdS: Milan great admirers of Fiorentina star but €60m price tag is too hefty

By Isak Möller -

Milan will be looking to sign a striker this summer as Zlatan Ibrahimovic struggled with many injuries this past season. Several names have been mentioned and for now, the Rossoneri are evaluating many profiles.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), Olivier Giroud tops the list but his contract renewal with Chelsea has made things more complicated. In fact, Milan aren’t willing to pay any transfer fee to sign the Frenchman.

Therefore, options are being evaluated and Dusan Vlahovic is one of them. The Rossoneri like the Fiorentina star a lot but the price tag of €60m is a huge obstacle. Had it been lower, then Paolo Maldini could have made a serious attempt.

It’s clear, however, that Milan will bring in a striker this summer and we can only hope that it’s a good deal, not just money-wise but also the quality of the player. This will be up to Maldini and Ricky Massara, of course.

  1. Try next summer when price drops to 40m…he has 2 years left on his deal now and Comisso promised him to Gattuso. Next summer different story. If we aren’t gonna sign a young strong striker like Edouard or Boadu this summer, then sign Giroud for two years then he becomes back up to Vlahovic when Ibra retires next summer…and pray Giroud/Ibra can stay both healthy. Sign a RW ASAP – Ikone, Hudson-odi, Zyaich, etc…

  2. this why a super league is needed. Clubs are expecting too much money for young talent currently and are able to sit on them and not budge because they don’t need to get results in order to fund their payroll.
