Hakan Calhanoglu has been one of the best players in Serie A this year, finally living up to his high potential. However, his contract with Milan will expire in 2021 and the renewal talks are thus underway.
According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews.it), the Rossoneri have scheduled a new meeting with the player’s agent, Gordon Stipic. It will take place after the transfer window, when Paolo Maldini will be able to focus on the No.10.
The basis of the new contract is already in place, with Milan planning to offer a three-year renewal (until 2024) with a salary of €3m plus bonuses per year. Calhanoglu currently earns €2.5m per year and the increase will probably satisfy him.
As previously mentioned, the midfielder has been very important for the team as of late, most recently scoring one goal and assisting another against Shamrock Rovers. Hopefully, he can build on his good form against Bologna on Monday.
