GdS: Milan hoping Chelsea will honour promise and pave way for Giroud signing

Milan want to bring in at least one striker this summer to help offload some of the responsibility from Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s shoulders. The latter, as we know, will not be able to play every game next season.

The Rossoneri have set their sights on Olivier Giroud as they believe he would be the perfect deputy for Ibrahimovic. They have similar characteristics and the Frenchman’s experience could also come in very handy next season.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), the hypothesis of Milan signing Giroud is gathering steam and negotiations are well underway. The personal terms shouldn’t be any problems for the Rossoneri, who now rely on Chelsea.

The Stamford Bridge side promised to let Giroud for free, despite the renewal, as long as the new club isn’t another Premier League side. In other words, Milan are hoping that they will honour their promise and pave the way for the signing.
