GdS: Milan player ratings for Bologna draw – Theo the worst; RLC shines

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan failed to extend their winning run in the league as the clash against Bologna ended 2-2. Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who scored a brace, was one of the few positives as several players struggled to perform.

In our player ratings, Loftus-Cheek was named the MOTM at 8/10, showcasing his importance with great awareness and positioning. However, several players struggled and this is something that Gazzetta dello Sport highlighted this morning (see photo below).

The pink newspaper also named Loftus-Cheek as the MOTM at 7.5/10, playing with strength in the attacking midfield role and being decisive when needed. No one came close to the Englishman, though, with Rafael Leao and Alessandro Florenzi next at 6.5.

The likes of Davide Calabria, Simon Kjaer, Matteo Gabbia, Tijjani Reijnders and Yunus Musah all passed the test at 6. The Dane, for example, made two great blocks just before the first goal but also missed a big chance at the other end.

Mike Maignan, Christian Pulisic and Luka Jovic were a bit disappointing, though, all three coming in at 5.5. The goalkeeper could have done better on both goals and the American wasn’t involved enough, failing to break through.

Yacine Adli, who was too slow according to the newspaper, Olivier Giroud and Filippo Terracciano were rated at 5. The youngster was the culprit on the penalty, with a silly tug of the shirt, but the worst on the pitch was still Theo Hernandez at 4.5. He failed to rack back on the first goal and also missed a penalty.

  1. Exactly, Theo was the worst last night. He was nowhere tracking back at first goal and then deflected for Maignan. He missed penalty. The build up on third goal also came from his flank when he was schooled like a rookie by Orsolini who made a perfect cross to the far post where Terracciano pulled that dude. If Terracciano wouldn’t pull him down he’d probably score anyway.

  2. Catching opponents shirt in ur own box knowing there is 262662 cameras watching you and that the refs can use…i am sorry but it is not about inexperience, its a sign of idiotism

    1. Right, because at 21 you hadn’t done anything remotely idiotic, much less on a national stage?

Be objective. Terra is 21. Will make mistakes and hopefully learn. Probably shouldn’t have been there in the first place.
