GdS: Milan ratings for win against Cagliari – Trio highlighted; one clear flop

By Isak Möller -

Ismael Bennacer was the big hero for AC Milan yesterday as he scored the only goal against Cagliari with a great volley strike. Rightfully so, the Algerian was praised by the newspapers, as well as some other Rossoneri players.

Taking stock of each player, Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanLive) named Bennacer the MOTM as you would expect. The midfielder got a 7.5/10, which is exactly what he received in our player ratings as well. Not only did he score the goal, but he also directed the play with class.

Pierre Kalulu and Theo Hernandez were the next-best players with a rating of 7, both playing without fear to make the best of the situations. The other defenders, Davide Calabria and Fikayo Tomori, got a 6.5. Franck Kessie and Ante Rebic also got that score as they played with more ease this time out.

The likes of Mike Maignan, Brahim Diaz, Olivier Giroud, Junior Messias and Rade Krunic got a pass at 6, while Rafael Leao was disappointing with a rating of 5. He didn’t have any impact on the game and also saw very little of the ball.
