GdS: New signing Leao surprises Milan coaches with three key qualities

By Oliver Fisher -

The AC Milan coaching staff have been left pleasantly surprised by the early signs from Rafael Leao in training, a report claims.

The Portugal U21 international became the Rossoneri’s fourth signing of the summer last week when he joined from Lille on a five-year deal.

The fee is believed to be around €30m-plus-bonuses, and he met up with the team in Cardiff ahead of Saturday’s penalty defeat to Manchester United in the International Champions Cup.

Since then, he has been integrating with the rest of the team at Milanello, and La Gazzetta dello Sport report on Thursday that he has been a ‘revelation’ already.

The coaches were apparently left surprised by Leao’s ‘incredible speed and strength’ as well as his ability to adapt to the new 4-3-1-2 formation.

He is expected to make his debut for the Rossoneri on Saturday in the friendly against Feronikeli in Kosovo, and he will also likely feature on August 17th against Cesena, before the opening game of the season against Udinese beckons.
