GdS: Origi and De Ketelaere among three challenges Pioli must tackle in next 11 days

By Oliver Fisher -

There are now less than two weeks until AC Milan open their Serie A campaign at San Siro against Udinese, and Stefano Pioli must resolve some things before that date.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports, there are 11 days left until Milan take to the field as defending Serie A champions on 13 August at San Siro in what will be a tricky game against Udinese, at least based on recent games against the Friulians.

During the last phase of pre-season preparations, the paper writes how Pioli has three important tasks that he must complete, and two of them involve new additions that have been made this summer.

First of all he must get Charles De Ketelaere up to speed with his game system and give him a role that will best help him adapt and show his qualities, then he must get centre-back Simon Kjaer up to 100% condition after eight months out, and finally he must integrate Divock Origi into the group when he is fully healed. Saturday’s friendly match against Vicenza provides an opportunity in this sense.
