GdS: Pioli hoping for Belgian influence in bid to catch Napoli

By Oliver Fisher -

While waiting for the return of Divock Origi, Stefano Pioli is also hoping to get more contribution from two other Belgian players in Alexis Saelemaekers and Charles De Ketelaere.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) recall that Saelemaekers played his last official match on 1 October in the dramatic 3-1 win against Empoli and with his return – one he marked with a goal against Liverpool – the first choice right flank also containing Davide Calabria is back.

Brahim Díaz, Junior Messias and Rade Krunić have all been used on the right side of the attack but none have the tactical understanding of the former Anderlecht man, who is a fundamental balancer of the Rossoneri’s system.

In the meantime, the hope is that De Ketelaere will also click. The World Cup in Qatar didn’t wake him up, meaning he returned to Milanello exactly as he left in November, but the feeling is that he is a talent who simply requires a launching point.
