GdS: Pioli ready to count on Bonaventura – he could feature against SPAL

By Oliver Fisher -

Giacomo Bonaventura could feature for AC Milan in Thursday night’s game against SPAL, according to a report.

The 30-year-old suffered a knee injury last October that kept him out of action for nine months but made his return to the fold last month, coming off the bench for the final 25 minutes against Torino.

He made his first start of the calendar year in the 2-1 win away at Genoa but suffered a thigh injury that forced him off on 81 minutes.

Tuttosport then reported that Bonaventura was set to have an MRI scan after he suffered a muscle injury which kept him out of the squad against Lecce.

However he is back in training and ready to go, and as per La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com), Bonaventura is an inside forward that Pioli likes and is ready to use.

The paper even goes on to claim that Jack could find himself featuring in Thursday’s must-win game against SPAL at San Siro. Could Pioli even start him on the left over Hakan Calhanoglu?
