GdS: Pioli the conductor as Milan’s methods at Milanello have evolved – the key points

By Isak Möller -

The last two years have been very successful for AC Milan, not just on the pitch but also off it. The financial situation is constantly improving and Stefano Pioli has brought the team back to the top on the pitch.

Behind every successful football club, there is a solid foundation, something that Milan now certainly have. In today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), a large section was dedicated to the Rossoneri’s evolving methods at Milanello.

Several changes and improvements have been made to the training centre, which is considered iconic, and these have helped Milan overall. The rooms have been renovated and work is underway to improve the already nice pitches.

The machines in the gyms have been replaced by new ones and the space for physiotherapy has increased. Extensive attention is also given to the use of fitball and pilates techniques, but also to the so-called ‘re-athletization’.

The greatest progress, however, has been made in post-match recovery techniques, while a specialized staff takes care of the nutrition of the players. In short, Milan have left nothing to chance, even from a technical point of view.

Pioli is the great conductor of a big orchestra, with over 30 people working at the training ground. A futuristic approach has been adopted on the market, that we have seen, but it’s also clear that this is the case off the pitch.
