GdS: Rebic faces tough task after sending off vs. Juve as Milan count on him

By Isak Möller -

Ante Rebic’s took the task of replacing Zlatan Ibrahimovic a bit too seriously, hitting Danilo with a taekwondo-esque kick that the Swede would have been proud of. In the end, his ‘madness’ cost Milan a lot.

As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), his recklessness ended Milan’s dreams of reaching the final, although the team showed great spirit by continuing to fight until the final whistle.

Stefano Pioli expected a lot from his striker and perhaps the pressure got to Rebic, who was a key player for the Rossoneri prior to the Coronavirus stop. That being said, his quality is undeniable even though a bad decision was made last night.

Now, Milan can only hope that the Croatian will recover quickly. Against Lecce, Ante will have to demonstrate his strengths both on and off the ball. Because his teammates, in the absence of Ibrahimovic, need him now more than ever.
