GdS: Rebic lives up to pre-season hype – Milan’s stance never changed

By Isak Möller -

Ante Rebic was one of the best players on the pitch for AC Milan yesterday, bagging a brace in the 4-2 win against Udinese. Taking last season into consideration, he’s like a new signing for the Rossoneri.

The Croatian international really struggled last season and that was mainly due to bad timing with injuries. After a positive start to the campaign, he suffered a serious injury and then had a few minor ones here and there.

As highlighted by Gazzetta Dello Sport, the signs of resurrection arrived early this summer as Rebic appeared in great condition for the pre-season. This was confirmed by his performances in the friendlies, creating a buzz around the player.

His display in the No.9 role yesterday lived up to the hype, that’s for sure, and the fact that he has already matched his record from last season (two goals) says a lot. He has been through a lot, but now he’s ready and Milan couldn’t be happier.

His versatility is part of the reason why Milan haven’t made loads of signings for the attack. The quality has always been there Stefano Pioli was simply waiting for the ‘real Rebic’ to make an appearance. In that sense, Milan’s stance never changed.
